Jeans can be a girls’ best friend, especially when you find that pair that fits you like a glove. But what about those days when you need something different? Something comfortable. Something versatile. Something that can go from the office to run errands, then on to book club.
We’ve discovered that pull-on pants, formerly something that only your grandmother would be caught dead in, are now not only chic, they are a wardrobe staple! A hybrid between pants and leggings, they have the substance of a trouser with the fit of leggings, giving you the best of both worlds.
This very modern spin on pants also fulfills a big gap – pants for the apple shape. While perfect for just about every body type, I have worked with many apple shaped clients over the years and have found that they are specifically challenged to find pants that fit. Typically for apples, when pants fit in the tummy, they are just big and baggy through the thighs. Not so with pull on slim-fitting pants. They fit just right, stretching in the waist to fit comfortably while skimming the thighs and visually whittling off pounds! Who knew?
Some of our favorites include:
1/ Stretch Twill –
Whether in navy, chocolate or black, these pants are perfect with boots, flats, loafers or mules. Top them off with a long sweater, a cardigan and tank combo or a gorgeous blouse and see how easy polished can be! Try ours from Clara S., Krazy Larry or our own in-house brand. You’ll want them in every color!
2/ Ponte Knit-
Ponte knit is a wonderful, heavy weight knit that has substance to it. It has stretch, but not too much. The thickness of the fabric allows these slim-fitting pants to be worn with tops both short and long. A hybrid of a pant and a legging, these pants can double as both without risking showing off to much. This is the ONE time it is OK to wear leggings as pants.Dress them up for your holiday party, or keep ’em casual for the weekend. So comfortable you won’t believe it, these also keep you warm! Try ours from Clara S. or Nic + Zoe.
Wear them with your tunics, sweaters, blouses or sweatshirts, you’ll wonder where these pants have been all your life.
