6 Simple Steps to Help You Look Fabulous for Less

Help!  I don’t have anything to wear!

Is this something you find yourself saying more times than you can count?  Then you’re in the right place!  At StyleFinder, our mission is to empower women through personal style.  We find that starts with knowing what you don’t know.  But once you learn what’s right for you, getting dressed will become effortless!  In fact, get ready for a steady stream of compliments, as well as confessions from girlfriends that they admire your style and want to know your secrets!

Having the perfect wardrobe seem like an elusive idea, and something that only A-list celebrities and those with a stylist on speed-dial can even dream of.  Once armed with the proper tools having your perfect wardrobe and getting dressed effortlessly is far more attainable than you might imagine.

“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.” Edith Head

If you’re like most women, you spend far too much time pondering over your clothes, debating which items to wear with what, only to wear the same ol’, same ol’ yet again.  I’ve seen first-hand the dilemmas that women face every day.  The bad news is that I see the same things over and over – women repeating the same mistakes and making the same fashion blunders time after time.  The good news?  These errors are easily remedied with a little know-how and a plan.  I give you both right here!  So go ahead, breathe a sigh of relief – you’ve already taken the first step to whipping your wardrobe into shape in no time, flat.

Well, perhaps ‘no time, flat’ is a bit of an exaggeration.  I look at this as a process.  After all, it wasn’t overnight that you learned to shop the way you do and build the wardrobe you currently have.  But with these easy steps you’ll be building great outfits quickly and easily – in fact, by tonight you, too, can look like you’ve worked with your own personal stylist!

I look at style as a journey.  It’s not ‘one and done’ but more a continual, fluid process that evolves as you do.  What this means is that your wardrobe is every-changing and requires a little time and attention to be sure you have the right pieces to work with.  Working with a style coach can save you hours of time, frustration and overwhelm.  If you’ve never considered it, I highly recommend it.  At StyleFinder, our certified style coaches are wonderful at helping our clients create and build a wardrobe, as well as tweak what they already have to ensure that they have the right pieces to work with.  And that’s half the battle!  Knowing what to stock your closet with so that you get what works best for you will give you endless options when it comes to getting dressed.  No more defaulting to your black pants and a blah top.  Instead, you’ll look forward to getting dressed!  You’ll have a closet filled with items that fit, flatter and make you feel fabulous!  Aren’t you worth it?

1/ Know Thyself – Start with knowing what colors work for you, what to wear for your body type and what your style truly is. Our StyleFinder 101 package does just this and can help create the foundation for building your wardrobe for years to come!

2/ Take Stock – Get into your closet, get rid of what’s not working for you, and take note of what you truly love.  What needs replacing?  What do you need to add?

3/ Make a List – Next make a list of what you need to bring in.  What items would help you make many more outfits?  Do you need a great new pair of jeans?  New shoes?  Whatever you want or need to see in there, write it down.

4/ Shop with a Purpose – While casual shopping can be fun, sometimes you need to get a little more serious.  That doesn’t mean it can’t be fun, too.  Block out time on your calendar (2 hours minimum) and craft your plan.  Come into StyleFinder and let our Stylista’s work their magic by helping you get what you need while encouraging you to try new things.  Plan time for shoes, alterations, etc. as well.

5/ Mix Ins – Once you have your new essentials, get into your closet and mix them in with what you already have, making some ‘new’ outfits.  Take pictures and let this become your ‘lookbook’.  Use this as a basis for getting dressed, but also when shopping to know what a potential new item will mix well with.

6/ Lather, Rinse, Repeat – A great wardrobe is not one-and-done.  It’s something that needs to be cultivated.  When you repeat steps 2 – 5 at least twice a year, you’re guaranteed to have exactly what you need at any given point in time.  As needs arise, be sure and make a point to seek them out and see how amazingly easy (and fun) it can be to build your perfect wardrobe!

At StyleFinder Boutique our goal is to help you discover how to get dressed in 7 minutes or less!  We’ll teach you how to build a wardrobe, rather than just buying more clothes, and how to dress like you mean it!  Contact us today to discover how we can help you take your wardorbe to new heights!
