A few weeks ago our beautiful client, Tamara, came into StyleFinder and shared with us photos of her family at her daughter’s wedding.  While she was thrilled with some of the pictures, she was not happy to see others.  Why?  Because the angle of the dress she was photographed in was all wrong!

Tamara had chosen a gorgeous champagne colored dress with ruching and a knot to the left side of the waist.  This style can be so figure flattering, however, as we see in these pics, when photographed from the side opposite the knot, the dress visually adds pounds!

In the photo on the right, Tamara looks beautiful!  This dress is in a hair-enhancing color, and the shape of the dress is perfect for her hourglass figure.  It highlights her defined waistline and makes her look slim and sleek.  Photographing her from this angle was a definite DO!

However, in the photo on the let, the fabric is pulling from this side and makes her look heavier than she is.  Visually adding at least 10 pounds, photographing her from this angle was a definite NO NO.

When wearing a dress or other outfit for a special occasion where there will be pictures taken, I recommend posing in front of the mirror, and even having someone take pictures of you from different angles.  When the memories will be priceless, you want to be sure you look your best – not cringe every time you see the picture!

Thanks, Tamara, for sharing!  This is such a great lesson for us all.  Xo
